locking up the converter will definitely increase power transfer, but never as good as a manual. the rotating assembly in an auto is much heavier, and there are more sources of friction in a auto that cause power loss. I have yet to lock my converter because this is not something to do often. When you make a lot of power locking the conveter glazes and burns out the locking up clutch. and then the conveter wont be as street drivable. since my car is a daily driver i would like to have my lock up clutch in place thank you. I have already put in 5 converter in my car this year alone and I don't want to do it unnecessarily. I will try it when I get everything else the way I want it for a little more, but if I locked the converter all 40+ 11 second passes that I have made this year, I would have burnt out a converter an event. shawn
